TPMA - Telecommunications Project Management Association
TPMA provides project management training and certification programs based on the PMI PMBOK Fourth Edition. We provide Project Management Professional (PMP) test preparation programs, and our own online Certification Exams. We now offer Instructor lead, Internet, Podcast Classes or combination classes.
We have additional PM technology programs that support Telecommunications, Information Technology, Wireless, Outside Plant, Data Center,and Security & Access Control Networks.

Regarding the “SALE” of the Project Management Program.
The training classes offered by TPMA were developed solely by Don Nelson and he holds the copyright to them. Don has signed a letter of intent to sell the classes and the copyright to BICSI.
We have worked with BICSI for eight years and discussions of some type of “merger” between the two organizations have been held. That’s not what’s involved this time! This is limited to the Intellectual Property involved in the training classes.
If (and when) a contract is signed by Don Nelson to sell the classes to BICSI, we will no longer offer them. We will continue to support our members, and the status of currently certified TPM’s (and other specialties) will not change.
For the near future we will continue to offer certification exams. BICSI has announced it’s intention to offer a new Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM) certification. The timing of that program, and issues such as “Grandfathering” current TPM’s and PMP’s are still unresolved.
