TPMA & BICSI
For the past ten years, the TPMA has provided Certification Exams as part of the BICSI Project Management Program. BICSI will soon offer it’s own Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM) Certification and Exam.
BICSI has announced that CURRENT TPMA Certified Project Managers will be “Grandfathered” into the RTPM program without taking an Exam. The official certification will begin in September 2011. BICSI will soon begin accepting applications, with a form to be posted on their web site. TPM’s will be required to send a photocopy of their TPM Certificate, and TPMA will verify that their Certification is “current” Duplicate TPM Certificates are available upon email request to current members. TPMA will continue to support it’s current members from it’s office in Clifton Park, NY. TPMA will be “Dues Free” beginning in 2011 and TPMA Certifications will remain active into the future.
BICSI now offers the TPM(i) Exam. The “Case Study” portion of that Exam will continue to be an “open Book, team exercise” completed as the “final exercise” for the class. The PM Knowledge portion of the Exam will be “closed book”, timed, and proctored. The Exam will initially be given at the end of class but starting in July will move to widely available local test centers.
